This ingenious tortilla wrap is a delicious way to enjoy layers of flavor using whatever you like! We’ve compiled this crunchy version with Carolina® White Rice, cheese, chicken and refried beans with jalapeño. Swap in any of your favorites or save them to garnish at the end for a tasty meal loaded with flavor.
Cut one slice in each tortilla from edge to center.
Spread 2 tbsp refried beans and 1 tbsp pickled jalapeño over one-quarter of each tortilla. Spoon 1/4 cup rice over another quarter. Sprinkle 1/4 cup Cheddar over another quarter, and chicken over the remaining quarter. Starting with the quarter to the left of the cut, fold each tortilla into triangles, enclosing fillings.
Toast in grill pan or skillet for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until tortilla is golden, crisp and cheese is melted.
Serve with guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo for dipping.
For an added kick, substitute Tex-Mex blend for Cheddar cheese, or pickled red onion.
Your next taco night just got a whole lot more interesting! While you can make this homemade crunch wrap version, there are plenty of ways to get creative and adapt the flavors to how you like them best. Make this meal your own or start with a few of these suggestions:
Not a fan of refried beans? Simply swap them out for something else like corn, black beans or mashed avocado.
Turn up or down the heat: Omit the jalapeños for less heat, or top with hot sauce or sriracha for more heat. You can also use Green Poblano Rice with extra peppers blended in with the rice layer.
Spice up your rice: Cook your rice in broth or season the cooking water with a homemade or store-bought taco seasoning. You can also use Cilantro Lime Rice or Lime Avocado Rice in place of plain rice.
Veggie friendly: Use more vegetables if desired by layering with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and sautéed bell pepper and onion.
Beef it up: If you prefer, use ground beef, turkey or pork spiced with a bit of taco seasoning instead of shredded chicken.
Add more crunch: Fill with sour cream and a layer of tortilla chips for a bit more crunch in each bite.
