Step 1
In a large saucepan add rice mixes, water, oil, onion, and sausage. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in shrimp, peas and green onions. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Serve garnished with pepper strips, if desired.
Step 2
Rice Cooker Version: Combine all ingredients, except shrimp, peas, green onions and peppers in a rice cooker.
Step 3
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for white rice. When the cooking cycle is finished, stir in shrimp, peas and green onions. lose lid and let stand 5 minutes.
Step 4
Served garnished with peppers, if desired.
