Recipe Suggestions

Although traditionally used in Indian cuisine such as Chicken Biryani, curries and tikka masala, using Carolina® Rice makes it easier to incorporate into all of your favorite rice salads, rice pilafs, casseroles or simple rice bowls.

On account of its lovely natural flavor, it can also work perfectly in arroz con pollo, southern Jambalaya, Spanish rice, vibrant yellow rice and filled into burritos with cilantro lime rice or stuffed vegetables.

Some believe that the long grains of Basmati Rice are ideal for making the perfect Rice Pudding Dessert.

Basmati Rice vs. Jasmine Rice

While both are fragrant and long grain rice varieties, Basmati Rice is longer and tends to cook up larger than Jasmine. Jasmine is often traditionally used in Asian inspired dishes like fried rice where Basmati is often found used in Indian inspired dishes. Thai Jasmine has a subtle buttery aroma and cooks up with a soft, slightly sticky texture. Basmati has a fragrant and subtle floral aroma that cooks up fluffy and a bit more separate. Still curious?
